Many great designs are hanging on the walls of cafe marc aurel all vying for the grand prize. The contest is judged on how much of the design is recycled and reducing waste. It will be very interesting to see who wins. If you happen to go check out the hanging please comment here on your favorite design. I am attaching two designs here. The children's chinese costume contest is underway with Alakai Paleka as the emcee. There are lots of chinese new year themed food and booths with everything chinese. We fed the lion too. lion dancing goes till 1:30.

The Sharky's crew was going strong at the parade. If you were lucky enough to catch them at the end they were throwing money off the back of the truck. Well, tokens to their brand new game center.

Wow what a gorgeous morning! Its going to be smoking hot for the Whale Day Parade today. Sunscreen required. My daughter is already excited for when people the parade throw candy. That apparantly was the highlight from last year's parade.

Tonights recipe: two scoops vanilla, sliced banana, strawberry syrup, oreo cookie crumble, whipped cream, and chopped almonds. I recently discovered strawberry syrup. It has changed my life. Can't say for better or worse just yet.

Cafe Marc Aurel has stunningly good croissants they bake fresh in the morning when they have them. My husband wanted something to eat while he watched the apple announcent today so i ordered the spanish omelet with no onoins. They said no problem they could do that one no onoin. My server even checked with the kitchen. Alas it was studded with onoin. My husband got my bagel (luckily I ordered backup) I got the omelet. It's eggs swirled with onion and tomato. The veggies would be better softened first, but I think they must pre mix it. There manchego melted on top and a large dollop of sour creme. Its also served with a hearty whole grain bread, toasted. A latte, a toddy, bagel, omlete, total was about $18.00
